SaluSpa Miami: A Detailed Overview by an Owner (2024)

The SaluSpa Miami is one of our most popular inflatable hot tubs and made it into two of our rankings at once:

No. 1 in the ranking of “Best Indoor Hot Tubs” (read research + tips for installing a hot tub indoors)

No. 4 in the ranking of “Best hot tubs for 2 people in 2024” (read research)

So we realized the need to do an in-depth review of this particular model.

After analyzing the experience of 200 customers and studying the technical characteristics of the hot tub, we will answer in this article, for whom it is the best solution, and who it will not suit.

Are you about to buy a hot tub? Or are you an experienced owner?

In either cases, you must know how to take care of your hot tub properly. We know how to save you time and money on hot tub maintenance and we are ready to share all the tricks.

Features of Miami hot tubs

Before the parse, it is worth noting that the Miami hot tub model is sold under different brands, but the manufacturer is the same — Bestway.

SaluSpa Miami Assessment + Customer Experience

For a complete evaluation of SaluSpa Miami, consider its features at each stage of use:

  1. Installation, preparation for use
  2. Using
  3. Maintenance and Storage
  1. Installation, preparation for use

The SaluSpa Miami is suitable for use both indoors and outdoors. Many people install it in their gardens, on the grass, on the terrace, or in the summer house. This 71-inch diameter round hot tub will easily fit in any small room, as well as in the garage or on the balcony. Indoors, factors such as drainage and ventilation should be considered.

Negative mentions (out of 200)-50-14

Installation of the SaluSpa Miami is quite easy and fast, as evidenced by the customer experience evaluation. The technical equipment of the model is presented in an easy to set up way. Everything you need for installation is included, and it only takes a few minutes to inflate your new hot tub.

However, don’t let this mislead you — don’t ignore the instructions before installation. This approach will prevent leaks or other mishaps in future use (for example, if you forget to install one of the gaskets on the hose).

The hot tub comes with detailed instructions on how to use it (see instructions). But what we think is even more convenient is that there is a step-by-step video guide for this model. We recommend you take your time (less than 5 minutes) to watch it (or bookmark it, click here).

Some users have commented that the water heats up slowly, but it’s worth noting here that the time it takes the Miami to heat the water the first time it fills depends on the temperature of the water entering the hot tub and the ambient air temperature.

On a typical summer day, it can take an average of 6-12 hours to heat the water to 104 °F (40 °C). Once the water has reached the desired temperature, the pump can be left on to maintain a pleasant water temperature.

  1. Using

First, let’s look at how to accommodate in the hot tub.

Positive mentions (out of 200)201715
Negative mentions (out of 200)-7 -7 -2
Calculation estimate (max 5)444

Customers note that it is best used for two people so that it is comfortable to sit with outstretched legs. The manufacturer indicates the average and maximum capacity of the model (2-4 people). So, if you sit next to each other, its capacity is 4 people. But if you want to stretch your legs full-length, this model is better for 2 people or a family with a couple of children.

The SaluSpa Miami’s internal construction, built with beams, holds the outside pressure, allowing it to sit on the edges while preventing spills. The material is puncture-resistant yet soft to the touch, and the bottom of the hot tub is well-inflated, making it more comfortable to stay in. Fewer than 5% of users had any criticism about the material.

Remember that the model SaluSpa Miami has several options for the number of jets. The pressure of air jets is good in both options, but if you like a strong massage it is better, of course, to choose the option for 120 jets.

Number of jetsPrice
120 air jets
60 air jets
120 air jets
81 air jets

It is worth noting that when the jets work, some noise is created, and the water cools faster. Fortunately, this whirlpool bath has an external heater, which allows you to heat water and use jets at the same time. That is, you can simultaneously get a relaxing massage and be in warm water.

High temperature soothes inflamed muscles and promotes relaxation, and the digital control panel allows you to adjust the temperature without leaving the bath. The maximum temperature is 104 F (40 °C).

The SaluSpa Miami has a timer. The timer on inflatable hot tubs is more of a “high-end” feature, but Bestway managed to add it to the updated version while keeping the price affordable.

With the timer, you can preset a time to relax and come home to a bubbling tub. This feature is also designed to help reduce energy wastage by setting the time and duration of the hot tub heating cycle.

  1. Maintenance and Storage

Includes an inflatable cover and reinforced insulating cover with safety clips to keep the hot tub warm and clean when not in use.

The hot tub includes a chemical dispenser to keep the hot tub clean at all times and 3 replaceable filter cartridges for easy maintenance. The filter cartridges screen out debris and dirt in the above-ground hot tub, so the pump can fill it with clean hot tub water. We recommend replacing the filter cartridge every 2 weeks to ensure standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

The SaluSpa Miami is fully portable and has a convenient drain valve that allows you to drain and bleed in 30 minutes. This is especially handy if you plan on using your hot tub for a couple of months or only when you’re hosting parties or taking it on a trip. The SaluSpa Miami will retain its solid, round shape even if you plan to drain and inflate it and move it around regularly.

The hot tub material is designed to be UV resistant, so it should not crease after prolonged use outdoors in hot weather. Therefore, you can store the Bestway SaluSpa Miami outdoors, but it is still recommended to stash it in a dry, sun-exposed location for extended storage.

Also, a nice bonus with this model is the presence of a feature — Freeze Shield. This is a technology designed to automatically increase water circulation around the pump to prevent the water from freezing.

Freeze Shield works as long as the unit is plugged in. The system activates when the water temperature drops to 39.2 °F (4 °C) to raise the temperature to 50ºF (10 °C) (this is the temperature at which the hot tub will safely operate). The feature allows the Miami hot tub to be used not only during the warm season but also in the winter.

Summary

Analysis of the customer experience of SaluSpa Miami owners showed no significant disadvantages of this model. In addition, many noted the comfort and convenience of its use.

Although SaluSpa Miami is a relatively inexpensive hot tub, it has some additional features that are rarely found in this price category:

  • Digital display, convenient for adjusting the temperature without leaving the hot tub
  • Timer to schedule the use of your hot tub and save electricity
  • Freeze Shield — to prevent the water from freezing, making it possible to use the Miami hot tub in the winter
SaluSpa Miami is right for you if you want it for:
  • Use a hot tub for up to 2 people or a family with 1 or 2 kids

Peter Rossi

Hi, I’m Peter Rossi, a professional hot tub designer and founder of ByRossi. After having spent over 10 years designing hot tubs for Jacuzzi Group, I started a private practice. Now I design bespoke hot tubs for high-end apartments. I am based in New York, but my clients are all over the world – from San Francisco to Paris, Dubai, London and Tokyo. One thing I enjoy is writing. Hot tubs manufacturers have always been notorious for pushing cheap, subpar products for crazy prices, making profits on naive first-time buyers. So I consider it my social mission to share my expertise and educate clients on who is who in the industry. Lately, I started to work with other people who help me to develop the business. In particular, a couple of great researchers and veteran journalists help me convert my raw thoughts into beautiful articles which you might enjoy reading on ByRossi. Hope my efforts help.
